Sentranced Saturday #2

sentranced (adj.): the state of being captivated by a well-written sentence.

Sentranced Saturday is a weekly meme created by me that encourages you to share a quote that left you entranced. I have a little notebook that I carry with me everywhere to write down quotes that inspire me in some way, and I am sure that I am not alone! Everyone is welcome to participate, please be sure to link to this post so I can see all of your quotes!

“That which kills you is not what stops your heart beating but that which stops you from living.”
Forever, highly underrated TV show

When looking through my quotebook, nothing spoke to me quite like this line from an episode of Forever, which is a fantastic show that ABC cancelled after just one season. It’s been four years and I am still bitter about it. (In other news I have finally found a place to stream it – CW Seed!– and I know what I am doing this weekend!)

This line captivated me when the final episode initially aired so much that I wrote it down, and it is my constant reminder to live my life to the fullest. Depression and anxiety sucked so much from my life, feeding on my joy and energy until there wasn’t much left but an empty shell. I was like the living dead without the zombie brains. I finally got help last year and while things aren’t always perfect, I remember having been in such a dark place and this quote is like my lifeline.

What do you think about this quote, and what quote do you want to share this week?

Thank you so much, and while I certainly have some bad days things are definitely more positive on the whole!

This quote certainly inspired me when I first heard it, but now that I am on the other side of depression I have a new appreciation for it. ❤
