Sentranced Saturday #6

sentranced (adj.): the state of being captivated by a well-written sentence.

Sentranced Saturday is a weekly meme created here that encourages you to share a quote that left you entranced. It makes you think. I have a little notebook that I carry with me everywhere to write down quotes that inspire me in some way, and I am sure that I am not alone! Everyone is welcome to participate, please be sure to link to this post so I can see all of your quotes!

“There is no perfection, only life.”

– Milan Kundera, The Unbearable Lightness of Being

As a total Type A perfectionist, this sentence from The Unbearable Lightness of Being resonates with me so deeply!  I am constantly struggling with my own unrealistic expectations that I set for myself and the anxiety that it brings.

Life is a beautiful gift, but it isn’t perfect. When I remind myself of this sentiment it liberates me from the expectations I shackle myself to, letting me feel free.

What do you think about this quote, and what quote do you want to share this week?

Ouu this is a lovely meme!! I’m obsessed with good quotes from books especially. I completely agree with the quote you’ve chosen, I set stupidly high expectations on myself too. Sometimes it’s worse that it’s all on me because I am my own biggest critic, but I’m trying to learn that it’s okay to be less than perfect. That’s what makes us all human 🙂

I’m quite the opposite, especially when it comes to work. Usually just go for good enough because I can’t be bothered. Don’t get me wrong, i do what’s needed, but nothing more. Next time my boss points it out, I’ll show him this quote 😂
