Sentranced Saturday: wherever you go becomes a part of you somehow

sentranced (adj.): the state of being captivated by a well-written sentence.

Sentranced Saturday is a weekly meme created here that encourages you to share a quote that left you entranced. It makes you think. I have a little notebook that I carry with me everywhere to write down quotes that inspire me in some way, and I am sure that I am not alone! Everyone is welcome to participate, please be sure to link to this post so I can see all of your quotes!

“Wherever you go becomes a part of you somehow.”

– Anita Desai

I love to travel. I love exploring a new place and experiencing it like a local as much as possible. I talk to people and learn about their lives and city/country, about cultural differences, and gain a wider understanding of the world and my position within it. Every place that I visit definitely changes me, and this quote sums up rather succinctly why I love adventure so much! (I am going on an adventure today! Hopping over to Las Vegas for the weekend to celebrate my best friend’s 30th and then back home to San Diego to visit friends and family for the week. Super excited!)

I also love to read. When I cannot get away due to financial constraints or work obligations, diving into a good book sweeps me away to another place! It’s adventure unrestricted.

What do you think about this quote, and what quote do you want to share this week?

  1. Great quote! I agree, everywhere you go does become a part of you somehow. I think our experiences all have an impact on who we are as a person. I also liked that you included reading because I think the books we read often become a part of us as well.
