Sentranced Saturday: Nature doesn’t hurry

sentranced (adj.): the state of being captivated by a well-written sentence.

Sentranced Saturday is a weekly meme created here that encourages you to share a quote that left you entranced. It makes you think. I have a little notebook that I carry with me everywhere to write down quotes that inspire me in some way, and I am sure that I am not alone! Everyone is welcome to participate, please be sure to link to this post so I can see all of your quotes!

“Nature does not hurry, yet everything is accomplished.”
― Lao Tzu

This has been such a hectic week of catch-up since I returned to the office after my week-long vacation. I’ve felt harried during almost every waking moment, and that certainly doesn’t help my anxiety. This quote (and a few deep breaths) helped to calm me down more than a few times this week. I don’t know what it is about these eight words but they bring me peace that I feel when I am in nature – stillness. I know that I place unrealistic expectations on myself and I just need to trust that everything that needs to be done will be done as soon as possible; there is no point to stressing about it. Easier said than done, but it brings stillness for a few minutes at least.

What do you think about this quote, and what quote do you want to share this week?
