Sentranced Saturday is a weekly meme created here that encourages you to share a quote that left you entranced. It makes you think. Everyone is welcome to participate, please be sure to link to this post so I can see all of your quotes!

“There’s no such thing as a life in-between.”
― Pat Riley

The full quote is actually “There are only two options regarding commitment. You’re either in or you’re out. There’s no such thing as a life in-between,” but this particular part is incredibly poignant to me. For some reason this speaks to me almost on a cellular level and in the past couple of weeks I have claimed it as a meditative bell to call my attention onto

I am sure that I am not the only person that struggles with commitment to themselves. I find myself making health and fitness goals, things that I genuinely enjoy participating in, but when the mood strikes me I will throw all my hard work out the window. In the moment my goal doesn’t matter, even though I know I will hate myself five minutes after succumbing to whatever that moment’s whim is.

I want to see, do, and accomplish so much in this life of mine. But I can’t get there if I am not 110% committed. You can have a life in-between, but for me it won’t be a fulfilling one. I don’t want to have any regrets when I look back on my life. I want to live my life to the fullest instead of in-between highs and lows of my own making. This quote brings my focus back and helps me to overcome the impulses, and I am thankful for it.

I can relate! 😊 Honouring my own commitments is sometimes hard for me. I have been thinking about why that is a lot and took this as an invitation to be a kind and non judgemental observer of my thoughts. I am not thrilled about my discoveries 🙈😂 but I guess that’s where growth is for me. In that discomfort. I wish you all the best with your own journey. We are in this together! 💕

“Kind and non judgemental observer of my thoughts” is possibly the most brilliant thing that I have ever read, Vera! I am also very much of an introspective person, but I am finding it difficult to 1) be kind and 2) act on the discoveries I am making. One day at a time, I suppose!

Oh, thank you very much. ❤️ I guess it’s the yogi 🧘‍♀️ in me that has been taught this over and over again. But with that said: I have many moments when I just react. 🙈 Hence the non judgemental part is so important for me as it’s so easy for me to judge myself and beat myself up. We’ve got this, one step at a time. 💕

I love this quote! There are so many times in my life when I want to commit to things but come up short. Being able to follow through with your endeavors is such a blessing! You’re reflection was absolutely beautiful! Thanks for sharing, love! ❤️
