Sentranced Saturday #14

sentranced (adj.): the state of being captivated by a well-written sentence.

Sentranced Saturday is a weekly meme created here that encourages you to share a quote that left you entranced. It makes you think. Everyone is welcome to join in; link to this post so I can read what has left you sentranced!

“Peculiar travel suggestions are dancing lessons from God.”

― Kurt VonnegutCat’s Cradle

I love to travel. While I am an intense planner in every possible aspect in my daily life, once I get to a place I prefer to go with the flow. It is almost like a vacation from myself and the shackles of my Type A personality! And all of my best travel memories came about on a whim: a fellow traveler recommended a place that I just have to check out or I make a new friend and we decide to go on a detour.

There is something magical about being open to opportunity and the unexpected. But this was something that I have had to cultivate because the unknown (and not having 35765 plans) kind of freaks me out. But there is beauty in being swept up in something unexpected, and I am thankful that I have learned that lesson.

🌟 If you haven’t yet read Cat’s Cradle, I encourage you to consider participating in the Fall Traveling Book Review! I am sending my well loved copy around to others to read & annotate my copy and post reviews. I’ve added a read-a-long option for those that cannot afford the shipping costs or do not want to share their address. I hope you will join us!

What do you think about this quote, and what quote do you want to share this week?

As a reminder, last week I decided to move my posting time for this weekly post to 4 pm. Pacific on Fridays (midnight in England, 7 a.m. Singapore) in an effort to be as inclusive to non-US time-zones.
