• Have fun!

Witch: A Magical Character or Book

Mairwen and Strange Grace by Tessa Gratton. Such a wonderful and magical book, and Mairwen’s character is lovely.

You can read my full review of Strange Grace here.

Werewolf: The Perfect Book to Read at Night

🐺 🌕 If by perfect you mean “will make you get up and turn all of the lights on in your apartment because you are an adult and live alone,” then The Siren and the Specter by Jonathan Janz definitely fits the bill.

You can read my full review of this creepy ass read here.

Frankenstein: A Book that Truly Shocked You

Jar of Hearts by Jennifer Hillier definitely surprised me! Not only was it a fantastic thriller that kept me enthralled and guessing, I was impressed that I didn’t guess everything from the get go!

You can read my full review of Jar of Hearts here.

The Devil: A Dark, Evil Character

Holland from A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E. Schwab for sure! I like my characters dark and twisty and he definitely fit the bill – also the Danes from this book are so freaking evil so they get a shout-out here.

You can read my full review of A Darker Shade of Magic here.

Grim Reaper: A Character that Should Never Have Died

My answer for this will forever be Firefly-related and even though this masterpiece was cancelled 15 years ago I don’t want to spoil that. So… if you’ve seen it you probably know. Look at the spoiler at your own risk.

Zombie: A Book that Made You “Hungry” for More

Ace of Shades by Amanda Foody. I honestly think about this book so frequently and pre-ordered King of Fools as soon as it was available to do so. I need to be back in the City of Sin.

You can read my full review of Ace of Shades here.

Gargoyle: A Character that You Would Protect at All Cost

Amani from Mirage first comes to mind, even though she really doesn’t need protecting! I just adored her strength and passion so much and she deserves all the good things in life.

You can read my full review of Mirage here.

Vampire: A Book that Sucked the Life Out of You

Contagion by Erin Bowman was such a magnificent read and caused me a mini-slump (totally not a bad thing!)! I was sucked in right away and devoured the entire book in one sitting, hungry for more.

You can read my full review of Contagion here.

Ghost: A Book that Still Haunts You

Honestly there are two books already mentioned on this list that I think about ALL THE TIME and literally NEED SEQUELS FOR IMMEDIATELY.

Ace of Shades & Contagion

Demon: A Book that Really Scared You

I have tried maybe eight times to read IT by Stephen King but simply can’t do it. That book scares the crap out of me and it is a giant book of NOPE.

Skeleton: A Character You Have a Bone to Pick With

Lila in A Gathering of Shadows. We need to have some words.

Mummy: A Book You Would Preserve Throughout Time

Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi. This book is so powerful, beautiful, and important.

You can read my full review of Children of Blood and Bone here.

Creepy Doll: A Cover too Scary to Look At
