I’m Co-Hosting Books and Tea’s June Readalong of The Storm Crow!
Chances are that unless you’re brand new here (if so, HI! Welcome!), you’ve heard me scream incessantly about a handful of books: Ace of Shades by Amanda Foody, This Mortal Coil by Emily Suvada, and The Storm Crow by Kalyn Josephson.
I’m beyond ecstatic to announce that I’m co-hosting Books & Tea’s readalong of The Storm Crow in June with my good friend Lauren @ Northern Plunder! We’ve been planning this since late last year and are thrilled to bring a book that means so much to us to more people, especially since the sequel The Crow Rider comes out on July 7th.
About The Storm Crow
Publisher: Sourcebooks Fire | Release Date: July 9, 2019 | Pages: 352
Genre: Young Adult, Fantasy

That terrible night has thrown Princess Anthia into a deep depression. Her sister Caliza is busy running the kingdom after their mother’s death, but all Thia can do is think of all she has lost.
But when Caliza is forced to agree to a marriage between Thia and the crown prince of Illucia, Thia is finally spurred into action. And after stumbling upon a hidden Crow egg in the rubble of a rookery, she and her sister devise a dangerous plan to hatch the egg in secret and get back what was taken from them.

May 15, 2020 at 10:16 PMThis readalong sounds awesome! I preordered the book but then never read it haha 🤦 I need to read it! I didn’t realize it was a great portrayal of depression. I mostly suffer from anxiety but I was diagnosed with both anxiety and depression, so that makes me want to read it even more!

June 2, 2020 at 7:27 PMNow is the perfect time to read it, Brittany!!! (also isn’t the foiling on the naked hardover pretty?!) The depression rep is so good and I loved feeling seen. I hope you join us!

May 15, 2020 at 11:04 PMSomehow despite all the hype I’ve witnessed about this book and the upcoming sequel, I didn’t realize that it had depression representation? It was already on my TBR, but now I want to read it even more! I have a lot of books already on my June TBR, but readalongs are so much fun I might just have to join in on this one as well!
Kal
June 2, 2020 at 7:28 PMI feel like the depression rep isn’t talked about a lot for some reason, which is a damn shame! I hope you’ll have time to join us — it’s a lowkey readalong.

June 9, 2020 at 9:36 PMI’ve been thinking about using an audio book credit for this for some time. Didn’t even know until recently the sequel was coming out. Your readalong encourages me to perhaps get to it sooner and join in the fun!
Kal
September 19, 2020 at 8:34 PMI am so sorry for the late reply, but thank you so much for commenting! Did you pick up the audiobook? If so, I’d love to hear your thoughts!
