Sentranced Saturday: that which kills you is not what stops your heart beating but that which stops you from living

When looking through my quotebook, nothing spoke to me quite like this line from an episode of Forever, which is a fantastic show that ABC canceled after just one season. It’s been four years and I am still bitter about it. (In other news I have finally found a place to stream it – CW Seed!– and I know what I am doing this weekend!)

This line captivated me when the final episode initially aired so much that I wrote it down, and it is my constant reminder to live my life to the fullest. Depression and anxiety sucked so much from my life, feeding on my joy and energy until there wasn’t much left but an empty shell. I was like the living dead without the zombie brains. I finally got help last year and while things aren’t always perfect, I remember having been in such a dark place and this quote is like my lifeline.
