*rolls out the red carpet* Hello friends, and welcome to my nominations for the 2019 Book Blogger Awards! 🏆
The book blogger community is definitely my favorite part of running Reader Voracious; everyone is so kind and supportive, and that is why I am so glad that May decided to pick up the torch for the Annual Book Blogger Awards for its third year.
My Nominations
There is still time to nominate your favorite bloggers, check out May’s post for more information!
✨ BEST OF THEIR AGE ✨
- Best Pre-Teen/Teen Book Blogger (13-19): Kelly @ Another Book in the Wall
Kelly is not only one of the sweetest people I know, but she also works hard to boost the voices of other teen bloggers with the Teen Influencers Book Blog Directory she maintains. Her blog has great reviews and discussions, as well.
- Best Adult Book Blogger (20+): Sam @ Fictionally Sam
Sam has one of my favorite blogs out there. Earlier this year she worked on a rebrand, which made her blog so unapologetically her. She loves all aspects of storytelling, and that is what her blog focuses on: stories. She talks plenty about books but she also throws in occasional movie reviews as well. She has a great blogging voice and is so kind.
✨ BEST GENRE BLOGGERS ✨
- Young Adult: Tiffany @ Read By Tiffany
Tiffany never fails to write some of my favorite book reviews. I don’t know how she does it, but I find myself reading all of her reviews, even for books outside of my preferred genres! - Romance: Kayla @ Books and BlendsKayla writes succinct and balanced reviews for so many romance books, it seriously amazes me! I love how unapologetic she is for her love of the genre, and I enjoy reading her reviews despite my not reading romance myself.
- Science Fiction / Fantasy: Lisa @ Way Too Fantasy
I follow a lot of SFF book blogs because that’s my preferred genre, but Lisa’s blog stands out in my mind. She reads a good combination of newer and older books in the genre, and I love reading her reviews as a litmus test for books. - Literary Fiction / Classics / Poetry: Rachel @ Pace, Amore, Libri
Rachel’s blog is amazing for literary fiction! Each year she follows the Man Booker Prize with predictions, thoughts on the longlist, reads as many of the books as she can to make predictions, and then wrap everything up at the end. It is a lot of work but I appreciate it so much as a burned out fan of literary fiction! - Mystery / Thriller: Norrie @ Reading Under the Blankie & Krystin @ Here’s the Fucking Twist
First of all, I love both of these blog names for mystery & thriller – on point branding! Norrie’s reviews for mystery and thriller are among my favorite. With a sarcastic sense of humor, her reviews are succinct and let me know quickly whether or not I should pick up a book. Krystin’s reviews are honestly comedy gold to read. She also does true crime on her blog, which I find absolutely fascinating to read.
✨ BEST OF BOOK BLOGGING ✨
- Best Book Reviews: Hamad @ The Book Prescription
Hamad’s reviews are to the point and easy to read, which as an overly verbose person I really admire. His reviews go over each main part of storytelling from plot, characters, and pacing – all in a couple of sentences for each category. He reads fairly widely as well!
- Best Book Recommendations: Vicky @ Vicky Who Reads
Vicky’s blog is one of the best out there for a lot of reasons, but I absolutely love her recommendations! This year she has been doing her Writer Wednesdays for 2019 debuts, but she also has a If You Liked This, Try… series that I absolutely adore. Her blog is a must-read. - Best Discussion Posts: Siobhan @ Siobhan’s Novelties
Siobhan isn’t afraid to tackle the difficult topics, and I admire her so much for it! She writes almost weekly discussion posts on topics relating to publishing, access, and the book blogging community. The posts (all of them, really) are balanced and well written. When something happens on book Twitter, you can typically expect a post about it to come up from Siobhan!
- Best Blog Aesthetic: Kat @ Novels and Waffles & Cassie @ Let’s Get Galactic
Kat’s blog is absolutely adorable (and I even hate the color yellow!). Her blog is an excellent example of stellar branding, and she is also an incredibly talented graphic designer: see my blog header for proof! Cassie’s aesthetic is equally stunning with rainbows everywhere. From her hair to her photo filters and her bookshelves, everything about her screams rainbows and joy. - Best Blogging/Writing Voice: Jess (and Teagan) @ Fiction No Chaser & Rain @ bookdragonism
Fiction No Chaser has one of the best writing voices out there. I love the review format breaking down the “ingredients” of a story and the inclusion of a cocktail recommendation to pair the book with ties it in so well with the name. Jess (and Teagan, who is currently retired) have a sarcastic and witty sense of humor that shows in their writing and is an absolute joy to read. Rain’s writing voice is so consistently on point and fun that I would read her grocery list if she’d let me. I love how she sprinkles in tidbits about her life and what’s going on in her posts and is always on brand with book dragons being fierce.
✨ MISCELLANEOUS ✨
- Most Engaged in the Community: Marie @ Drizzle & Hurricane Books & Lauren @ Northern Plunder
Both Marie and Lauren spend a copious amount of time engaging with the book blogging community. Lauren runs a large book club and manages a few Discord servers, but always has time to chatter away or comment on my posts. Marie not only makes the time to blog hop a lot, but she also writes fantastic discussion posts that give back to the community in some way. - Best Personality: Loretta @ Laughing Listener
Loretta’s gif game is unmatched in this world. She’s active on Twitter and always screeching about books with gifs, and her blog posts also ooze with her fun personality. - Friendliest Member of the Community: Bex @ Becca Leighanne
Bex is definitely our friendly book blogging neighborhood ghoul. (hey ghoul, hey.) She is one of the sweetest people that I have had the pleasure of getting to know, and she is kind to everyone. 15/10 would recommend you get a Bex. - Best at Promoting Diverse Books: Michelle @ Michelle Likes Things & Kate @ Your Tita Kate
Michelle boosts LGBTQIAP+ books consistently, and I love her recommendations because a lot of times I don’t know a book has representation until she posts about it! Kate is a champion for diversity and intersectionality, and I honestly live for her posts on Twitter. She’s put a number of diverse books on my radar and I absolutely love reading her reviews.
✨ MOST IMPORTANTLY ✨
- Best New Book Blogger (started blog after August 2018): Haley @ The Caffeinated Reader
I swear, it feels a lot longer than January 2019 that Haley burst into the book blogging scene. She’s a review machine and reads a lot of books; we have similar reading tastes though, so her blog is dangerous for my TBR!
- Best Small Book Blogger (under 1,000 followers): Dev @ Read by Dev
Dev honestly has one of the coolest blogs and writing voices out there. She creates playlists for books to put in her reviews, which I think is not only such a nice touch but really showcases her love of music. Her blogging voice is solid and I adore her reviews as well as her unapologetic love of the Shadowhunters world. - Best Overall Book Blogger: Destiny @ Howling Libraries & CW @ The Quiet Pond
Destiny is one of the first book blogs that I ever followed and I’ve looked up to her since the beginning. I love her aesthetic and review style, and am honestly amazed at how much reading she is able to accomplish with such a busy life! She is also one of the sweetest people in the world and so passionate about the book blogging community. CW has one of my favorite blogs. Whenever I visit The Quiet Pond, I feel calm and tranquil, and the work that she puts into her blog and art is astounding. Her reviews are so well written and thorough, and her recommendations of diverse books has helped make my TBR grow ten sizes!

Good job on getting your nominations out there! I really don’t know who to nominate. Mainly because I don’t have much time to do extended bloghops anymore, let alone energy after work and being on the computer all day. Just quick hops every then and there. Hope you’ll receive some nominations too!
Thank you Laurie, and it took me ages to work on my nominations because I was so overwhelmed! I did receive some nominations, which I really appreciated & didn’t expect.
