Welcome back to the third annual Bookish Jazz Awards! 🎉 Designed to actually give readers their voice to determine the “best” reads of the year, the goal of these awards is to recognize all of the amazing stories we got to read this year!

I am so excited to reveal the nominations to you all! And now YOU get to vote for YOUR favorites – which ones will make it to the semi-final round? It is up to you!
The Nominees
Nearly 200 young adult and adult novels are nominated for the 2021 Jazzies! Thank you so much to everyone who took the time to submit a nominations form, and congratulations to all of these books & the authors! 🎉🎉🎉
I created a spreadsheet with all of the nominations (click the book title to be taken to the Goodreads page for the book) that is embedded below. The spreadsheet looks best popped out and viewed directly on GoogleDocs; for some reason the embed doesn’t carry over frozen frames and other quality of viewing items.
Books that were ineligible because they were published outside of the eligibility window (November 1, 2020 to November 30, 2021) were removed. If a book was nominated for the wrong age category, I moved the nominations where appropriate.
I am sorry if your favorites are not included. 2021 is a difficult year and current events undoubtedly impacted many people’s energy and even reading this year. There are no doubt many amazing books that weren’t nominated and for that, I’m sorry!

Voting Rules
There are a total of three voting rounds. This ensures that all eligible nominees have the option to be voted for in general voting; there will also be a semi-final and final round.
The voting round will last until December 28th and here are the rules:
- Any book published between November 1, 2020 and November 30, 2021 were eligible for nomination.
- You can vote for up to two books for each subcategory.
- You do not need to vote for a book (or 2 books) in every category.
- Every award category has two subcategories: Adult and Young Adult.
- The voting form closes at 23:59 on December 28, 2021.
- Only votes cast via the form will be counted.
- Semi-finals voting will begin on December 29, 2021.

For categories with less than six total nominees, there is a write-in section on the voting form. If your favorite book is missing, feel free to write them in for inclusion in the semi-finals round! You can click here to access the voting form directly.
