“It’s the sound of the sea that makes you believe in mermaids.”
― Anthony T. Hincks

I have always loved mermaids. When I was a kid my favorite movie was Splash and on more than one occasion I poured an entire jug of salt into my bath to try and turn into one. I lived by the beach and have always been happiest sitting on the dunes and watching the waves; the lull and rhythm brings me an instant sense of peace.

There is so much about the world’s oceans that we don’t know, and there are so many creatures that live beneath the waves that we have yet to discover. I love thinking about the possibilities unknown, and like to think that mermaids do exist. What about you? What mythological creatures do you think are plausible?

What do you think about this quote, and what quote do you want to share this week?Β

spacer_wLet’s go on another adventure together!

Mermaids and unicorns! I am a lover of the fantastical and majestic. I agree about the ocean. It is my favorite place to be. Listening to to it and seeing its size really helps me put life into perspective and levels me out πŸ’•

I love the sea. I grew up in a country that doesn’t have it and always saw it as such a novelty. I live in England now and absolutely adore its rocky wild coast, where I escape to a lot. My dream is to live by it one day… 😊

As a child, I would spend a lot of my time in woods. I would build houses for local fairies. I read a lot of mythology / folk stories as a child and imagined all sorts of creates whom I would serve tea and had heated arguments with. πŸ˜‚ I absolutely believe, that fairies πŸ§šβ€β™€οΈ are real. Every time I see a little firefly I start hoping… 😊

I absolutely LOVE this so much, and I feel like if I had grown up near the woods I probably would have been fascinated with faeries as well!

I love the sound of the sea too but not because of the mermaids. Just because I love swimming and smelling the salty air of the sea.

Oh man, me too!!! As soon as I parked yesterday and stepped out of the car I smelt the salty air and seaweed and it made my soul so happy! I am left wondering why I moved away from the beach!!!

I love the title of this meme! And I was very much obsessed with mermaids when I was a kid! When we finally learned how to do dolphin kicks in swim class, my friend and I were ecstatic because we could now playact being mermaids at the pool a lot more authentically. πŸ˜€

Thank you, Kathy! Oh man, I still pretend to be a mermaid when I am in the pool and no one is around! πŸ˜€
