“Don’t let the hard days win.”
― Sarah J. Maas
Full disclosure: I have never read anything by Sarah J. Maas. *clings to her sf/f blogger identification card* But I have to admit that this particular quote has given me pause to consider picking up her work (where would I even begin?!) more than all the hype in my circle of blogging friends, and it was exactly what I needed on a bad day.
I just found a sticker of this SJM quote that we all need “Don’t let the hard days win.”
— Fiction No Chaser (@FictionNoChaser) July 26, 2018
Some days are harder than others and I have taken the stability I have found with the removal of stressors and medication for granted. We all have hard days, and it is important for me to try and not let them consume me completely. Thanks Jess/Teagan @ Fiction No Chaser for giving me a new power quote, and thank you to everyone that offered me kind words.
What do you think about this quote, and what quote do you want to share this week?
As an exciting note that Danielle @ Books, Vertigo, Tea and Debby @ Always Booking have joined in on the Sentranced Saturday movement! Welcome! In an effort to be as inclusive to non-US time-zones I am moving my posting time for this weekly post to 4 p.m. Pacific Time on Fridays (midnight in England, 7 a.m. Singapore). Everyone is welcome to join in!
Let’s go on another adventure together!
My mother tells me to “not let the b*st*rds get me down.” It has a similar effect. It’s nice that you have a friend looking out for you. I’ve never read Sarah Maas either.
Damn straight don’t let them get you down (Handmaid’s Tale shoutout as well “nolite te bastardes carborundorum”)! Thanks for sharing what works for you and for stopping by! We will probably have to read some Maas one of these days!
Right! I had forgot about that line from the Handmaid’s Tale. I wonder if my mom has read that. 🙂 maybe a Maas buddy read one of these days.
Maybe she has!!! I would so be down for a Maas buddy read at some point, that would be so fun!
I love this quote, it’s a great reminder when it seems like everyone/thing is against you. Love your kitty! Hope all is well:-)
Thank you so much Tammy, and I am feeling much better today after 3 down days thankfully! My kitty is the best thing in my life and so adorable, she appreciates your accolades. 💛
I feel like I should put this on my bathroom mirror!! It is okay if you haven not read Sarah J. Maas yet… some day maybe or maybe not. There are a ton of authors I sort of feel bad for not reading yet in the blogoshere but then I’m like oooo loookkk a new book 😀
Too many books to read and definitely not enough time, that’s for sure!!! And yes I think this would be a good bathroom mirror quote for sure!
Love this quote! It’s a great reminder that there’s contrast in life and that those bad days will pass one day. I may put this quote on my vision board! 😊👌Hope you are having a good weekend and Whole30 is going alright. ❤️
Thank you so much Vera, and this is a good vision board quote for sure! I think I am going to print it and put on my cubicle wall at work and maybe on my bathroom mirror. Whole30 is… hahahaha. I fell off the wagon and am slowly bringing myself back. Hope you are doing good!
Life happens and Whole30 is very strict, crossing my fingers for you that it goes well. 🍀 I’m finally seeing a specialist next month to start ruling things out. 😊
Crossing fingers for you!!!
Oh this is such a great idea for a meme, I love it 🙂 I haven’t read anything by Maas, but I have to say that I really like this quote! 😀
Thank you so much Marie, and it makes me feel better to know that I am not the only blogger that hasn’t read any Maas yet! This quote is just so lovely. 💛 Thanks for stopping by!
OH you’re not and I am certain there are plenty of other bloggers out there, they might be well hidden haha 🙂 <3
I need to read more by this author! I do love the quote, though. It’s hard not to dwell on the not-so-great days.

Thank you so much for stopping by! Have you read anything by Maas before? If so what would you recommend?!
I’ve only read Throne of Glass, but it’s been awhile! I really need to read A Court of Thorns and Roses.
Whether you have read her or not, this is a fantastic quote! And one that I needed to see at this moment <3 It is too easy to feel overwhelmed or beaten at times. We all benefit from those reminders that not to let it consume us.
Thank you for mentioning and linking to the blog. Love the meme so much!
Definitely such an amazing quote, and it has made me want to read some SJM! Thanks so much for sharing your quotes as well, I feel like we are so on the same wavelength each week.
