These are some wild and scary times, my friends. I hope all of you are safe and well! But honestly, I am not here to talk about the state of the world right now… ya gal needs to escape a bit.
I don’t know about you, but I tend to cope with super stressful situations by diving into fantasy worlds (aka avoidance). For some reason looking at my This Mortal Coil shelf got me thinking about what the main character would do if she were me… and then I wondered what a bunch of my favorites would do in quarantine. And thus this tag was born! (This is what happens when you’ve been socially isolating and live alone.)
Rules
- Take 5 or more of your favorite book characters and imagine what they would be doing if they were quarantined with us in the real world.
- You can have them be in their own squad if you want, or working on their own.
- Tag 5 friends.

Characters in Quarantine
This was actually a little difficult because so many of my favorite books are dystopian and happen to deal with illnesses… and some were a little too close to home. (Looking at you, Fie.)
Catarina Agatta (This Mortal Coil by Emily Suvada) would be trying to develop a vaccine for COVID-19 and hacking into the CDC for the people so that the President couldn’t take credit and profit from it.
Hanna ███████ Donnelly (Gemina by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff) would probably break into the CDC through the air vents to steal test kits for her friends.
Legend (Legendary by Stephanie Garber) would tell everyone that COVID-19 was just an illusion and part of the game while simultaneously trying to solve everything himself.
Jude (There Will Come a Darkness by Katy Rose Pool) would be found in a church praying in isolation.
Laila (The Gilded Wolves by Roshani Chokshi) would stress bake and deliver fresh bread and pastries to her friends (while staying at least 6 feet away).
Jade (Foul is Fair by Hannah Capin) would ignore Stay at Home orders and invite all her frenemies over for a party for faster revenge killing. (Don’t do this.)

I love this idea! Cat would be on my list too and that is something she would definitely do! Totally agree with you about what Hanna would do too, although I think she’d steal as much equipment as possible and give it to those who need it as well.

I love this tag so much and thank you for the tag *plops it onto my tag mountain pile* My brain is constantly thinking about TMC at the moment and I really want to read TVC to avoid reality basically but I’ve just not been in the mood to read recently.
Of course, and I am glad you like the tag idea! TMC is always on my mind, and I am glad it spawned this idea for me. TVC is so good (I still need to review it oops), but I am not only struggling to read but also write reviews. WAH

this tag is so fun, kal!! i love your answer for hanna — she’s not my favorite character from the illuminae series but she would 100% do that.
