Meet the Blogger tag
My dear friend Bethany over at Bibliophile’s Binge created & tagged me in the Meet The Blogger tag earlier this month! In a twist of events, I wanted to do this tag now – instead of hoarding the tag in my drafts for 84 years like I usually do – to celebrate reaching 300 WordPress followers! Thank you all so much from the bottom of my heart and welcome new friends to my corner of the internet! I can’t wait to get to know you better! Also, be sure to check out Bethany’s blog because she’s wonderful.
Name: Kaleena
Age: 34
Education: A.A in Anthroplogy, B.A. in Religious Studies with a minor in Human Rights
Location: California, USA
Job: Fundraising for a Research University
These are a few of your favorite things: Just a few?! I recently posted 50 of my favorite things, but topping the list are books, sunflowers, and my cat.
Is there a story behind your blog’s name? I really wanted something that spoke to the voracious reader within me, but of course ‘voracious reader’ was taken so I decided to flip the word positioning like in other languages for ‘reader voracious.’
What are you looking forward to right now? My upcoming trip to Vancouver with my best friend to see Journey and Def Leppard!
Favorite Ice Cream: Talenti gelato, I really dig the pistachio one.
Coffee or Tea? And how do you take it? Both. I drink coffee in the mornings (black) but I am much more of a tea aficionado. I like the taste of coffee but don’t really care about it beyond ‘not Yuban,’ whereas for tea I get really into it!
Favorite Thing To Do On a Rainy Day: Curl up with a book or go for a hike in the rain. Some of my favorite memories are of being outdoors in the rain – so long as I don’t have to be somewhere, I don’t mind getting caught in it.
Favorite Movies: Inception, Back to the Future, Halloween, Last House on the Left
Favorite Books: This is mean and impossible. Slaughterhouse-five by Kurt Vonnegut is the only one I can name, but check out my favorites shelf for a few more.
One Item on Your Bucket List: Travel to every continent.
Scariest Thing You’ve Ever Done: I am the kind of person that likes to tackle things that terrify me; I find that often if I can overcome them or at least understand then I won’t be so scared. So naturally, I decided to take private pilot’s lessons to conquer my fear of flying! It was actually a lot of fun to learn how to fly a Cessna and it certainly has helped make me not a nervous flyer.
Fun Fact or Two: I have been stalked by peacocks in three countries. Birds hate me. I wrote one of my undergraduate honors theses on Battlestar Galactica.
Thank you so much, everyone, for following and interacting with my little corner of the internet! It means the world to me and I look forward to getting to know you all better in the future.
Leave a comment to tell me one fun fact about yourself!
Let’s go on another adventure together!

August 20, 2018 at 2:12 PMOh man, do I have some STORIES I could share! It isn’t even just peacocks and it is freaking so bizarre. There was a time that I was literally chased by a seagull down a hill. lmao Thanks so much for stopping by!

Siobhan @ Novelties
August 20, 2018 at 5:49 PMI know 😂 it just seems to be my luck to be stalked by a rainbow bird. I’ll never trust those bastards near me again.

August 18, 2018 at 10:28 AMLove this! My first response to your answer about what to do on a rainy day would be “what rain?” since you live in California, but maybe you’re lucky enough to live in the north😁
Kaleena @ Reader Voracious
August 20, 2018 at 2:14 PMBAHAHAHA! I live in the wrong damn state for how much I love rain, I know! In San Diego it was like 30 days a year worth of drizzle, but we get a bit more rain up here in the Sacramento valley area.

August 18, 2018 at 8:29 PMAw I like this tag! I’m gonna steal it 🙂
That’s amazing, that you went for flying lessons! I’d be so scared. And LOL, birds can be vicious!! I remember when I was little, a swan wanted to pull a little girl into the lake. And we were followed by some as well once!
Kaleena @ Reader Voracious
August 20, 2018 at 2:15 PMYAY I am so glad that you stole it and I loved reading your answers!!!
Swans (and geese) are the worst. (Actually all birds are the worst.) Flying lessons definitely was scary at first but it wound up being so cool!
