sentranced (adj.): the state of being captivated by a well-written sentence.
Sentranced Saturday is a meme created here that encourages you to share a quote that left you entranced. It makes you think. Everyone is welcome to join in; link to this post so I can read what has left you sentranced!
“Every man’s life ends the same way. It is only the details of how he lived and how he died that distinguish one man from another.”
– Ernest Hemingway
Life is about the journey: we all die in the end. I know for me I often get caught up in the minutiae, especially after a particularly during a dumpster-fire of a week like the one I have had. I know this doesn’t appear to be related at all to the quote of the week, but it kind of is!
Our life is the summation of memories and experiences – that is what ultimately sets each of us apart from one another. We all die in the end, what really matters is the journey… but when I am wrapped up I cannot enjoy the journey. For me I find it so helpful to think about the length of my life; how things that were frustrating 10 years ago I barely remember today and something today that has me fired up won’t matter years from now when I am on my deathbed. I find that freeing in a way.
What do you think about this quote, and what quote do you want to share this week?
I’ve decided that I may not continue posting a Sentranced Saturday quote every week. Sometimes I don’t have anything to say and the pressure of digging up something on occasion isn’t fun or meaningful to me. I created a meme homepage here that can be linked to for those that participate, and I will continue to join in when I have inspiration! For now, my International Reader Interviews will be posted on Saturdays.
Let’s go on another adventure together!
I adore the concept of Sentranced Saturday and I love the sharing of quotes so this was right up my street. On any sad days I have I’ve achieved your post so I can read the other 15! Xxx
Awww thank you so much for stopping by and glad you love the idea!
Basically he was right. We all meet the same fate and the only difference is how we lived 😉
Absolutely!
I’m alwaysssss talking to clients about this sort of message, all stress is temporary and what you’re dealing with now won’t matter months or years from now – I think it helps put things into perspective and how you said, it can be freeing!
Definitely! I used to obsess over my grades and literally like 3 weeks after graduation it meant nothing and I laughed at myself for the misery I put myself through. It is freeing but definitely hard to step outside of.
Such a beautiful quote! Thanks for sharing this one, Kaleena! <3
Thank you, Kelly! ❤
