After much delay, I’m excited to scream that the finalists for the 2020 Bookish Jazz Awards are here! 🎉 For the second year in a row, you nominated, voted, and championed for your favorite books across 54 total categories (breakdown: 13 fun & 14 genre categories for both YA and adult books). I apologize for the delays in this year’s awards and thank you for your patience.
In case this is your first post of the 2020 award season, the Jazzies were designed to actually give readers their voice to determine the “best” reads of the year. You can learn more about their origins here.
2020 was an incredibly difficult year for us all, particularly for the publishing industry. Now more than ever, books rely on word of mouth with the shutdown of book conventions and events, and hopefully these awards will bring new books onto your TBRs. Now… let’s get to the winners!
You nominated a total of 314 books published between November 1, 2019 and October 31, 2020 for the 2020 Bookish Jazz Awards. (That’s amazing!) The field thinned through the three voting rounds, and we’re left with 39 winners for the 2020 Jazzies!
Check out the spreadsheet below for all of the books and the category(ies) won. Click on the book title to open the book’s Goodreads page in a new tab.
Thank you so much to everyone who took the time to cast your votes, and congratulations to all of these books & the authors! 🎉🎉🎉
